It depends on where you qualified, your specialty and your exam history. Most internationally trained GPs are on the standard pathway; doctors from certain jurisdictions may be eligible for the competent authority pathway, and specialists are assessed separately. Not always. A PESCI is tied to the position, not just to you — but where the new role is similar in scope, setting and supervision level, an exemption can sometimes be sought. We assess this honestly before you commit to the cost and preparation of a fresh interview.
